It's been too long.

Ok, it's been a long time since I have posted on here. Let's see....well, Owen was a yellow duck for halloween! That was exciting...I'm still waiting on most halloween pics, and pumpkin patch pics, but there is one picture of Owen in his puffy costume.

He is standing solo, and trying to walk these days. Today he used a straw for the first time! He is growing up way too fast!

Thanksgiving was fun! We had Chris's sisters, and my mom and Mel over for a Thanksgiving feast, hosted by yours truely for the first time ever...mom helped alot! Haha, thanks mom! We have all hit a couple rough patches with colds and flu's here and there, but thankfully have pulled through unscathed! Work has been pretty crazy and intense for both Chris and I. In my line of work winter time is our busiest. So it's been keeping me on my toes. Here are some recent pictures for your viewing pleasure. I hope you all had a happy and healthy Thanksgiving. ....Let's go Christmas season! Hooray!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day!!

For daddies day we took a trip to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. We met up with our friends Liz, Aaron, their son Bradley, Liz's dad, and sister. It was gorgeous outside! The weather was perfect for the beach, although I got sunburned, it wasn't too hot at all out by the water. We dressed Owen in his little swimming trunks and rashguard so he could have his first ocean encounter!
After walking along the boardwalk for a while, and eating at one of the cute restaurants they have there, we headed down to the beach to play in the sand. Aaron took Bradley out into the surf to jump some waves...

Liz took tons of pictures from the beach of her boys in the water, and hung out with Owen...

We took some pictures of Owen's first little dip in the ocean...just his toes went in...the water is pretty cold...

After playing in the sand for a while, we packed it up and headed home. It was a long day of being in the sun and Owen, (and myself), were definitly ready for a nap. We hit a ton of traffic trying to get home, but Owen slept the entire way. It wasa really fun day out at the beach. Chris enjoyed his dad's day.

Anyway, I hope all you dad's had a great day! Love you guys!

Until next time...

Cheeeeese!

So, we have finally taken a family picture, or several pictures. Owen wasn't in the best of moods, so he isn't exactly smiling, but hey, at least he looked at the camera!...sorta...Owen looks huge to me for some reason. I assure you , he's not that big, I think it's because he was closest to the camera.

Real food!...Sorta...

Owen had real food today for the first time...sorta. He had peaches stage 1 baby food. It was so cute! We put him in the high chair, and Chris fed him his first ever baby food experience. I took a ton of pictures. He loved it! Safe to say, peaches were a hit! Doctor said we can try one baby food every three days. So, a couple more days of peaches, and we move to carrots..yummm! I hope he takes to carrots as well as he did the peaches...

Chris and I dropped the baby off tonight with Chris's mom so we could go out and see a movie. We saw The Hangover...absolutely hysterical! We had alot of fun! I also upgraded my cell phone, as the one I had, had broken down a long, long time ago.

It's sunday night, and I'm dreading the start of another work week...however, I got a bit of a promotion this past week! Yay! So, I start training for my new position tomorrow. It's in the medical billing department at our office, which is really nice, because it's already a position I'm familiar with, and I don't have to deal with other doctors offices asking for patient info anymore. That got annoying.

Anyway, here are some pictures of Owen and his peaches. Also, I took some pictures of Chris tickling Owen after he ate...

We've all been sick...

Well, for the past week and a half everyone here has been sick. It started with Mel, traveled to my mom, who passed it to me and Owen, and now I've given it to Chris. It's been hellish. On the bright side, Owen is sick, but you'd hardly notice! Haha. It hasn't phased him much. Aside from being a bit more clingy to me, and sleeping more, he's still his cheerful self, with the addition of a cough. This was him sleeping it off with his favorite puppy.

Work has been insanely busy. However, we did find time to get out on the town for our first "non child" adult outing! My mom and Mel took Owen for us over Memorial Day weekend, so we could go out and have fun with our friends. We had so much fun! My best friend, Megan and I went with Chris, and two of his buddies to several little bars here in downtown San Jose and then went and played pool at these billiards nearby. We took tons of pictures and goofed off and laughed the whole night. Then, on Sunday night, Chris and I got to go out on a little date night. We went to The Cheesecake Factory and then to see Star Trek. It was awesome! Star Trek was an amazing movie. I"m really hoping we can go see the movie Up this weekend, it looks so cute!

Anyway, Owen is growing, at an astounding rate. He's a sturdy 17 pounds now, haha. The kid is solid! He's making all kinds of noises now that are hilarious. He's ticklish everywhere so we get him laughing pretty good sometimes. He has started eating at his high chair, and we're working on applesauce and pureed carrots, delicious I know. He has a new favorite bouncy chair. He jumps around and laughs at himself and goes crazy. Here are some pictures of Owen from the past week...

I hope everything is well with everyone, love you guys, talk to you soon!

...reminds me of The Newsies...

So, I have a new favorite accessory for Owen...his old man hat! It's like a british boy selling newspapers on a street corner! I love it. I bought him a tan colored one, and baby blue one. The night I got them, we had a small fashion show, and he let me take all kinds of pictures. He's so active and animated, that not all the pictures came out so well, but this one did!
He's such a ham...I really don't have much else going on...it's a million degrees here. I kinda just wanted to show off Owen and his hat. LOL.

Take care!

Hoppy Easter!

Well, Owen turned 3 months old on April 4th, and he has been trying like hell to roll over. He has managed to get up on his left side, he just can't seem to get that extra push to roll himself to his back. Hopefully soon it happens, and I catch it on film!

Today is Easter, and it's Owen's first of many! He got so many things, it seemed like Christmas! He had three baskets filled with toys and stuffed animals and clothes. My mom and Mel came in from Manteca, and they took Owen, myself, and Chris to The Marriott for brunch. I was hoping the Easter bunny would be there for Owen to attempt to get his picture taken with, but the bunny was a no show...boooooo. After brunch we took a short drive to see The Ainsley House in downtown Campbell, which is where Chris and I are planning on having our wedding at in July of 2010. When we got home, my mom made deviled eggs and we hung out while Mel and Chris fell asleep. It was a very nice day, and couldn't have been any better...well, maybe if the Easter bunny had showed...maybe next year.
Here are some pictures from today...

Go Sharks!

We took Owen to his second ever Sharks game yesterday. It was Sharks vs. Stars, and we totally kicked ass! Owen slept through most of the game. We had awesome seats, too...here are a couple pics.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Well, I hope you all had an awesome St. Patty's Day! Ours was pretty calm around the Rodgers home. My dad has been in town visiting for the past couple days, so himself, Sylvia, and I took Owen to The Old Spaghetti Factory in downtown San Jose. I hadn't been there in ages, and had completely forgotten how good it is! It may be safe to say that it's my new favorite restaurant. I wore my green, as did Owen, did you remember yours!? Downtown San Jose was so cute and bustling with people out celebrating. There is an Irish Pub next to the Spaghetti Factory called, O'Flaherty's and boy were they partying!! Anyway, we had an early dinner and said our goodbye's, (dad and Sylvia headed home this morning), and I went home where Owen and I hung out for the rest of the night. He is starting to want to roll over. When I put him on his tummy, he puts all his weight on his right side and tries to push the rest of himself over. Although he hasn't figured out how to throw his hips yet, he is making awesome progress!

Here are some pictures of Owen in his festive green outfit that says, "Mommys lucky charm" ...

Owen's First Shots...

Here's a more recent picture of Owen, at 2 months old now! He's such a big boy!

He had his first set of shots yesterday, and he did excellent! He weighs an even 13lbs. now and is 23 inches long. Taking on the measurments of a Portugi more and more every day! Haha...

The doctor gave him a clean bill of health and then sent in a nurse to poke the heck out of him with huge needles. Owen cried, but quickly settled down. My mom came down from Manteca to accompany me to the doctor in case of a major catastrophe of some kind. (She was the most upset about the shots). She stayed the night and it gave me a chance to catch up on some much needed sleep...7 straight hours of uninterupted bliss!

He has been all smiles lately and really starting to vocalize. My mom swears up and down she heard him laugh, I'm thinking it's a bit early for laughter, but who knows, anything is possible. His personality is really developing and he is becoming such a little ham. We play hide and go seek with his blanket and he loves it. He has developed a love for his own sneezes. He smiles so big after he sneezes several times in a row.

Well, more to come soon...I'm expecting an email full of pictures my mom took while she was here visiting, as soon as I get those, I'll be posting them!

Until next time...here is the most awesome milk goatee you'll ever see...

Welcome to our family!

So, I decided to start documenting more of what's going on in our lives, and hopefully someone out there finds it slightly interesting. It's become more difficult these days with me going back to work, and Chris now working nights, to find time to breathe much less call every person we both know to update them on Owens latest developments. I wish I could, I really do, but let's be realistic.

Owen turned 2 months old yesterday and he is growing by leaps and bounds. I took him to the doctor on Monday, due to him having a hellish case of the sniffles, and he weighs 12 lbs. 9 oz.!! I can't even believe that just 2 months ago he was our little 7 lb. 4 oz. glow worm. We call him our glow worm because he had a slight case of Jaundice when he was born and we had to use this ultraviolet light radiating paddle on his skin 24/7 for about a week or so when we brought him home. This paddle would emit this tremendous green glow, and under his little clothes it made him look just like a Glow Worm.

Aside from Owen being the big 2 months now, and me going back to work part time for now, and Chris working night shifts, there isn't a whole lot new with us. I spend my days working from 7:30am until about 2:30pm and then come home to my boys. Chris leaves for work at about 3pm and Owen and I hang out the rest of the night. We usually play on the floor, sing songs, dance, and if all goes well, that tires him out for most of the night. I'm still trying to get him to sleep in his crib. It's been a task that has overwhelmed me from day one. He sleeps right next to me in his little vibrating baby papasan chair at night right now. I've tried to put him in his crib, but he just wakes up and cries 10 minutes after getting there. I would LOVE some suggestions if anyone has any!

As for now, I'm going to post some pictures, and talk to you guys soon!

Owen at 1 month...

Take Care!!
